Many of the people aspire to lose weight and cut the flab which is a good sign, but the methods adopted should be safe and the results are never immediate. Weight loss programmes should be aimed at improving the physical and mental appearance and also in enhancing one’s self respect and dignity. Care should be taken so as the weight loss programs are not overdone and result in becoming anorexic. It should have positive results. A physician should be consulted before the start of any weight loss program. Advertisements scream out from everywhere about the ease of losing weight, but it should be known that a huge amount of commitment is required to stick to the program. It should be kept in mind that the eating habits ranging from the type of food eaten and the way it is eaten and also the activities during the program will change to a drastic extent. A practical goal should be set during the program. It is safe to lose up to 4 pounds a month, but a drastic weight loss could be fatal to the body. Last but not the least it is very important to have an innate desire to lose weight.
