Hoodia gordonii for weight loss

Hoodia gordonii, also known as Bushman’s Hat and Queen of the Namib, is a species in the flowering plant family that is a stem succulent. They’re natural habitats are South Africa and Namibia. They can grow up to one meter in height; have large flowers that are often tan in color. The plant has been used in the medicine field. It has a foul smell of rotten meat and is usually pollinated by flies.The natives have been using the flower for treating indigestion and small infections. The Hoodia has been investigated as an appetite suppressant. Natives used to use the plant to during hunting trips. For this reason, there has been much interest from the weight loss field with the emergence of a market for this plant, and it has become vastly popular. However some medical weight loss experts don’t recommend hoodia gordonii to obese patients as there hasn’t been much documentation on the plant.Hoodia gordonii has been recently listed as one of the medicinal plants that are in danger of extinction. This is due to the fact that they are over picked as a result of the growing demand of the species in the weight loss field.
